New Scan Features Latest 3D Wavefront Technology
Nidek and Marco have collaborated to launch the OPD-Scan III, the latest 3D Wavefront system. The device combines autorefraction/keratometry, pupillometry, corneal topography, optical path difference and Wavefront analysis into one diagnostic workstation. The entire scan takes 10 seconds. Acuvue Receives Seal of Acceptance
Acuvue Advance Plus (Vistakon) is the sixth contact lens in the Acuvue family of products to receive the Seal of Acceptance for Ultraviolet Absorbing Contact Lenses from the American Optometric Association’s Commission on Ophthalmic Standards. The AOA determined that the Acuvue Advance Plus product met the specifications set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Standards Organization (ISO). Allergan Unveils New Optometry Website
As part of Allergan’s “Made for Each Other” campaign, the company has launched a corresponding website to provide optometrists with single site access to information about Allergan therapeutics. The website will feature information about patient cost-saving programs such as rebates for products including Restasis, Lumgian 0.01%, Combigan and Alphagan P 0.1%; printable hand-outs on unbranded disease state backgrounders to help educate patients; and practice management tools, such as questionnaires and trackers, to help optometrists access patients, get them started on treatment and track their progress.
